Discovery report | We report the discovery of a possible nova at 18.58+-0.33CV on several 30-s survey images (limiting mag about 19.0CV) taken by Xing Gao at Xingming Observatory “#”2 (N89) around 2023 Oct. 07.76563 UT using a unfiltered CCD (+0.5m f/4 reflector). The transient approximately located at RA= 00h41m48.84s, DEC = +41d31m20.5s (equinox 2000.0). Which is about 625.5″ west and 912″ north of the center of the NGC224(M31). Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on Oct. 06.54917, 2022 UT (limiting mag 19.0 CV). | ||
