Discovery report | We report the independent discovery of a possible nova at 16.8CV on several 30-s survey images (limiting mag about 19.0CV) taken by Xing Gao at Xingming Observatory “#”2 (N89) around 2023 Sep. 26.72449 UT using a unfiltered CCD (+0.5m f/4 reflector). The transient was independently discovered and first announced by ATLAS and designated as AT 2023trk. The transient approximately located at RA= 00h44m11.43s, DEC = +41d20m23.9s (equinox 2000.0). Which is about 982.1″ east and 255.4″ north of the center of the NGC224 (M31). Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on Sep. 25.58200, 2022 UT (limiting mag 19.0 CV). | ||
