Quanzhi Ye and Xing Gao report the discovery of a possible supernova on survey images taken by the 0.1-m f/3.3 “EAST” telescope at Xingming Observatory around 2020 Aug 20.9 UTC. Confirmation was made by EAST on Aug 23.9 UTC, and the 0.6-m f/8 “NEXT” telesope on Aug 26.9 UTC. The object is located at R.A.=09h14m08s.99 Decl.=+40°04’41”.0 (equinox 2000.0), about 44.4″ east and 128.7″ south of the center of NGC 2782. Unfiltered EAST images gave a G-band magnitudes of 13.7+/-0.1 and 13.8+/-0.1 on Aug 20.9 and 23.9 UTC, respectively. NEXT r-band observation on Aug 26.9 UTC gave an r-band magnitude of 13.35+/-0.04.
