POSSIBLE NOVA IN NGC 224
Zhijian Xu, Mi Zhang, Yi Ding, Peiyuan Sun, Xing Gao report the discovery of a possible nova in M31. The transient (mag approximately 17.0) on severl 40-s survey images (limiting mag about 19.2) taken by Xing Gao in Xingming Observatory Sky Survey(C42) around Sep. 17.65519 UT using a unfiltered CCD ( + Celestron C14 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope D=356-mm @f/6.9 ). The transient approximately located at R.A.=00h42m47.08s +41d16’00”.3 (equinox 2000.0). Which is about 31.1″ east and 8.2″ south of the center of the NGC224(M31).
