POSSIBLE NOVA IN M31
Zhangwei Jin(Ningbo, Zhejiang, China) and Xing Gao (Urumqi, Xinjiang, China),report the discovery of a possible nova (mag approximately 17.9) on several 40-s survey images (limiting mag about 18.5) taken by Xing Gao in Xingming Observatory Sky Survey(C42) around Mar. 02.57039 UT using a unfiltered CCD ( + Celestron C14 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope D=356-mm @f/6.9 ). the new object approximately located at R.A.=00h42m26.28s +42d13’31”.9 (equinox 2000.0). Which is about 203.1″ west and 3443.1″ north of center of the NGC224(M31).
Prediscovery images taken on Feb. 19.58119 (limiting mag 18.5), Feb. 20.57627 (limiting mag 18.0), Feb. 21.56854 (limiting mag 18.0) and Mar. 01.57823 (limiting mag 18.5). Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on Feb 07.59203 (limiting mag 18.5) or Jan 31.56422 (limiting mag 19.0).
